Anastaža is the heir to the grand Hoje Alecksandra, the owner of which is her aunt. After her parents were killed during the German occupation of Nebärav in 1944 and she lost her leg to a stray bullet wound in 1946, she considers herself the unluckiest person alive. Pessimistic and angry (for good reason), she navigates life always cautious of war. She's experienced it once, and now that another is looming on the horizon, she will fight and use her teeth.
She is the foil to Buckwheat, the son of the royal Paadst Augustine I, who is the leader of the Feldspar Revolution in Nebärav. Augustine, however, was also who designed her current prosthetic.
Her role in the hotel is as the head of staff. She has a close-knit group of friends who also live and work in the institution, but few are as close to her as Roger, a bellboy, and Jüli, a maid.
