THE STORY

(This takes place during the tail end of 2011.)

Nico Ruzicka is a death that cannot die. He is doomed to be shot through the skull, stabbed through the heart, overtaken by poison; but his body will simply be replaced within 24 hours. He is a being not of this earth, and nobody knows why. In the town of Jackmouth, he lives with his "friends": Moe Ruzicka, Charmaine Fitzgerald, Ime Akintola, and, of course Pyotr Novikov . The only one who will aid Nico in his ultimate goal of a permanent death. This story is one told through a broken psyche. As eldritch as it is bitterly realistic, as horrifying as it is cathartic, Jackmouth is a story of the horrors of humans (and those that are not). There is a being Nico insists is called THE MOTHER hidden in the depths of the attic. She sings for her lost children in the depths of the night, and-- the existence of which is dubious at best-- of an afterlife called "The Carnival". All that is known is the little town of Jackmouth has more on its hands than frigid, wet winters and an illegal underground boxing ring. The sea, in due time, will take what its owed, and only the immortal will survive.

MISCELLANEOUS WORLDBUILDING

THE MOTHER smells like salt water. Nobody is quite sure what lies within the hollow center of her head. She is loosely based off of the Inuit “Goddess of the Sea”, Sedna.
"Ol’ Finneas" is a Jackmouth local legend. He is said to have come from the sea. Every blue moon, he wanders the shores aimlessly. It is said that he is the reason for seashells; if you cross his path, he will kill you and crave your bone into shells. Allegedly, he wears a victorian diving suit. The beach he is apparently spotted on the most is named “Star Shard Beach”. This is the beach where Nico and his friends' house resides. (This is where the name of their house came from, too.)
Jackmouth’s police station has been named one of the worst in the U.S., and the worst in Alaska. The crime rate is insanely high. Nobody is quite sure why.
Jackmouth is located at approximately 65.898849, -167.264836.
There is a sickle that THE MOTHER wields. She calls it “The Crescent Moon”. It is the only tool that can murder her children, Pemorti.
Nico’s “birthing doll” was made out of redstripe bone, held together by tweed.
Within the town of Jackmouth, there is an underground boxing ring which Ime is apart of. It's said that it has some of the bloodiest matches in the history of boxing. You'd have to be exceedingly cocky or exceedingly stupid to join it.
